Sheldon Rudisill, PA
Sheldon Rudisill received her Bachelor of Science degree in neuroscience, magna cum laude, from Furman University. She later graduated with distinction, receiving a Master of Medical Science degree in physician assistant studies from Wake Forest School of Medicine.
In between attaining her degrees, Rudisill’s lifelong interest in science and medicine found her working as a medical scribe in a hospital emergency department. The teamwork displayed by her physician assistant colleagues inspired Rudisill to pursue a career in that field.
Today she works in pain management, which Rudisill says offers an interdisciplinary approach. “I’ve always had an appreciation for neurology, orthopedics, primary care, and mental health,” she explains. “With pain management, you get to incorporate all of those into one speciality.”
Rudisill says she finds great satisfaction assisting patients, who are dealing with chronic pain. Helping them along the road to recovery, while using the variety of tools at her disposal, proves rewarding.
“I really enjoy the hands-on aspect of pain management,” she says. “I find the team atmosphere and working one-on-one with patients very motivating.”
When not at work, she enjoys cooking, gardening, spending time with loved ones, and physical activities including yoga, hiking, and going on walks with her dogs Zombie and Samsi.
